VICE-CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Dep­uty Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Command­er-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Sen­ior General Soe Win, yesterday morning, gave words of encour­agement to officers, other ranks and families receiving medical treatments at the local military hospital in PyinOoLwin Station of Mandalay Region.

Vice-Senior General and party were welcomed by the commandant of the hospital and officials.

The Vice-Senior General met officers, other ranks and families warded at the hospital and individually asked about suffering from diseases and the progress of medical treatment, and presented foodstuffs and aid to them.

At the maternity ward, Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, and party comforted the pregnant women and presented aid.

The Vice-Senior Gener­al presented cash awards for health staff serving at the hos­pital to the hospital comman­dant.

The Vice-Senior General and party inspected the con­struction of the radiation and cancer treatment ward in the compound of the hospital where officials conducted them round the construction site.
