THE inspection team, led by Commissioners U Kyaw Soe and U Tin Aung from the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, inspected the Hngetawsan Boy’s Training School in Kawhmu Township, Yangon Region, on 18 August 2023 under Section 43 and Section 44 of MNHRC’s Law.

The inspection team inspected in accordance with the MNHRC’s Law and procedures whether the young boys who are detained in the centre can get fundamental rights including healthcare services, food supply, adequate dormitories, provision of purified drinking water, right to education, right to reintegration, right to learn vocational training, a support programme for physical and mental development and right to freedom of religion.

MNHRC will send recommendations to the relevant department for necessary action based on the findings during the inspection.
