DIRECTOR-GENERAL U Ye Naing of Myanmar Radio and Television partook in the 4th Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week Roundtable Conference in Kunming, China, from 16 to 19 August. The Myanmar delegation returned to Yangon via air yesterday.

The event delved into multiple themes, encompassing bolstering the national TV sector, elevating programme quality, and expanding into South Asian and Southeast Asian markets. Participants also explored potential collaborations and media sector growth. Co-production, broadcast, translation, copyright concerns, and more were discussed.

U Ye Naing highlighted the Mekong region's cultural affinities, showcased Myanmar's attractions, and detailed media sector advancements. Conversations included inviting international media for filming, addressing requisite support, conditions, and file sharing.

Following the meeting, media representatives from Mekong region countries will collaborate on the Mekong LOOK App. Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar have expressed interest in cooperation with China.
