UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met temporary executive members of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) at the Myanma Radio and Television on Pyay Road, Yangon, yesterday to discuss the development of the music industry.

In meeting with the officials of the State Orchestra, the Union Minister instructed them to perform rehearsals to present modern performances in collaboration with external artistes. He highlighted dressing and sewing new clothes properly, video clip production that complements the songs, in addition to enhancing sound and lighting effects. Furthermore, he discussed releasing information, documentation of recording activities in detail.

Following this, the Union Minister met temporary Executive Committee members of the music association and discussed the arrangements made by the temporary executive committee during the past two years and the upcoming plans. He emphasized the association’s role for taking measures of State peace and stability and development through the power of art for the country and the people and negotiated to allow artistes to further develop their artistic performances with freedom and happiness. He discussed, in the coming period, they have to achieve more progress under the leadership of the Music Association (Central) and participation of young artistes in the association.

Temporary chairman U Lwin Myint and the attendees reported on preparations for forming the association with new generation artistes, raising the fund and property rights of artistes.

Directors-General of MRTV and Information and Public Relation Department discussed collaboration for development of music industry and effective participate in copy rights in accordance with the existing law, and the Union minister fulfilled the needed.

The Union minister selected appropriate topics of “Baethu Hmanle Ahpyaingkye” (Who right match) programme and enjoyed the screening the talk show of young artistes.
