STATE Administration Council Member Porel Aung Thein, accompanied by Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin and other officials, inspected the urban development activities in Loikaw Township yesterday.
First, the SAC member and party visited the Monglon water plant in Loikaw Township and inspected the construction of a Slow Sand Filter that can filter 2.5 million gallons of water a day.
During the visit, they observed the drainage system and concrete road paving sites in Monglon Ward and offered the proper instructions.
At noon, he attended the meeting with members of ethnic literature and culture groups held at the Kayah State government office.
During the meeting, the state chief minister presented the support of the state government in ethnic-related affairs and the SAC member and officials provided cash assistance to 12 ethnic literature and culture groups.
The ethnic literature and culture groups discussed the ethnic festivals to be held in the state, the need for roads and bridges and cooperation work for stability in the state.
Then, the SAC member joined the meeting with departmental officials and heard the reports of the state chief minister on regional development programmes and other matters.
