UNION Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo, currently in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the People’s Republic of China, addressed the 2023 China-ASEAN Silk Road E-commerce Forum held in China yesterday.
In his speech, he said the measures to develop e-commerce along the Silk Road are very effective and play a key role in strengthening international cooperation. It is necessary to emphasize the digital trade in this digital era. The digital sector has witnessed significant progress recently in Myanmar. It also set a digital roadmap and organized the Digital Economy Development Committee (DEDC).
The government also makes reforms to attract investment to develop the technology and promote digital trading. Moreover, it accelerates the force to develop digital technology in trading, agriculture, healthcare, banking and education sectors.
Therefore, the countries along the Silk Road need to make investments in digital infrastructure and launch transnational cooperation, and innovative and creative measures to develop the e-commerce on Silk Road.
The forum was also attended by Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Mr Li Fei, Vice-President of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, business people and entrepreneurs from China and ASEAN countries.
