THE Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER) hosted the 33rd Friday Talk of Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, delivered the opening remarks by Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw.
The Union minister underscored that the holding of the Knowledge Sharing Programme every Friday for nearly eight months, today’s topic China’s 10-year-old ‘Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)’, its formation with 150 countries, its connection with China to European countries to enhance the regional integration, trade facilitation, liberalization, economic growth, the implementation of the five priors such as Policy Coordination, Physical Connectivity, Undisturbed Trade, Financial Integration and People to People Connectivity through the two passages especially over land and maritime, and the formation of international organizations like Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS for broader economic integration since 2000s.
Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw urged all staff to keep abreast of the world, realize not only the current situation of the world but also the matters on trade facilitation and liberalization as well as the future connectivity of the world and Peoples Republic of China, and actively discuss today’s topic.
Daw Theingi Tun, Staff Officer from the Union Minister’s Office presented the topic “Knowledge Sharing of Seminar on Economic and Trade Cooperation for the Belt and Road Countries” which was gained from the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) programme organized by the People’s Republic of China. The attendees then raised the questions, queries and discussions.
The deputy minister, the director-general, senior officials and 80 staff members joined the programme.
