THE inspection team, led by Commissioners U Kyaw Soe, Dr Than Myint and Dr Myint Thu Myaing from the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, inspected the Training School for Girls in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region on 24 October 2023.

The inspection team inspected the Training School for Girls (Malikha), under the MNHRC Law and procedures whether the girls in the Training School can get fundamental rights including the status of Covid-19 vaccination and healthcare services, food supply, adequate dormitories, availability of Citizenship Scrutiny Card, provision of purified drinking water, support programme for physical and mental development, as well as the right to education, vocational training, communication with their families, reintegration with their families, and freedom of religion.

MNHRC will send recommendations to the relevant development on the findings during the inspection visits.
