On Abhidhamma Day which falls on the full moon day of Thadingyut, capital dwellers made offerings dedicating to the Lord Buddha at the pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. Additionally, individuals seeking leisure opportunities visit recreational areas, and shopping malls become bustling the shoppers.
The 15th Abhidhamma Day on full moon of Thadingyut and the 154th Pathana Recitation took place at the Uppatasanti Pagoda.
Pagodas and stupas located in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area such as Thatta Tattaha Maha Bawdi Pagoda (Bodh GayaNay Pyi Taw), Mahathakyayanthi standing Buddha image, Yanaungmyin Shwelathla pagoda, Dartusaya Datpaungsu pagoda, Perpetual Peace Pagoda, Hlaykhwintaung pagoda, Koenawin pagoda, Lawkamarazein pagoda, Samsara Nyein Aye pagoda, and so on and monasteries across the capital were thronged with those from religious associations, local residents, and employee families. Activities include fasting, offering prayers, presenting gold foils, donating food to monks and performing meritorious deeds since yesterday morning.
In the evening, candle light offerings were conducted at these religious monuments.
Likewise, shopping centres and park, the zoo, and the Nay Pyi Taw National Monument Park attracted crowds of people seeking relaxation. — MNA/KZW
