THE Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs and Deputy Attorney-General Dr Htein Lin Oo attended the Fifth China-ASEAN Legal Coop­eration Conference held on 1 November in Chongqing, China.

The meeting was at­tended by Lu Kehua, Sec­retary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, Zhang Min­gqi, Vice-President and General Secretary of the Chinese Law Society, Pro­fessor Lin Wei, Principal of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Supreme Court judges from Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia and legal pro­fessionals from ASEAN countries and China and foreign scholars.

As a vital and powerful legal cooperation between the Ministry of Legal Af­fairs and the China-ASEAN Legal Research Centre, they discussed sending legal officers from the Ministry of Legal Affairs to the Southwest Univer­sity of Political Science and Law as scholars and signing the Memorandum of Understanding on Legal Cooperation and Legal Re­search Projects between the China-ASEAN Legal Research Centre and the Ministry of Legal Affairs in July 2023.
