UNION Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan met a delegation led by Assistant Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Mr Nong Rong in the meeting hall of Aung San Stadium, Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region yesterday.
The Union minister first explained the current situation of the Aung San Stadium to the delegation led by the Assistant Foreign Minister.
U Tun Myint Oo, Director-General of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, also explained the brief history and current situation of the Aung San Stadium and the conditions of joint implementation with the feasibility study team from China.
Furthermore, the Union minister expressed his belief that experts from the Ministry of Construction from Myanmar and the People's Republic of China can work together to rebuild the Aung San Stadium.
He further stated that he wants to see new Aung San Stadium, in honour of the national leader of Myanmar, General Aung San, which is being built into an international-level stadium.
The Assistant Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Mr Nong Rong then said that China and Myanmar are very friendly and related countries, so they will be able to cooperate successfully, and the Union Minister presented souvenirs.
The Union minister then visited the National Swimming Pool at U Wisaya Street and checked the building of the new amphitheatre.
