UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine re-ceived Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, they cordially discussed the com-ing programmes after the Fa-miliarization Trip-FAM Trip programme, the formation of working groups consisting of government-private officials to promote the tourism of two countries, tourist exchange programmes, holding of Vir-tual Tourism Forum with gov-ernment-private stakeholders, operation of Myanmar-Russia direct flights to destination sites and cooperation to pro-mote tourist destinations and develop tourism sectors of two

countries.

At noon, the Union minis-ter joined the Interface Meet-ing between ASEAN Tourism Ministers and ASEAN Trans-port Ministers, hosted by Laos,online.

At the meeting, the Union minister highlighted the need to designate the prioritized tourist destinations, and entry and exit in ASEAN regions as per the strategies drafted for the development of tourism and transport sectors of ASEAN regions, promote cooperation in tourism and transport sec-tors to facilitate the travelling, saying Myanmar approves to establish a special task force between ASEAN Tourism Authority and ASEAN Senior Transport Officials and will keep working together closely for regional tourism develop-ment.
