MYANMAR Permanent Representative to ASEAN U Aung Myo Myint attended the ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme (ADLP) Summit held in Bali, Indonesia, as a member of the ASEAN Foundation, trainers and youth volunteers were also present on the occasion, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
U Aung Myo Myint participated in the “ASEAN 101 Session on ASEAN Matters: Growth, Connectivity, Resilience” programme at the ADLP Summit together with other ASEAN Permanent Representatives.
The ASEAN Digital Literacy Programme (ADLP) Summit, co-sponsored by the ASEAN Foundation and Google.org, was held in Bali, Indonesia on 14 November 2023. Implementing partners, trainers and youth volunteers exchanged their views on their important role in building the ASEAN Community and more understanding of ASEAN affairs and the standards of those mechanisms. Moreover, ASEAN members also discussed the role of media literacy promoted with the help of trainers and the ASEAN Youth Advisory Group in combatting false news and misinformation.
Panel discussions of ASEAN 101 Session on “ASEAN Matters: Growth, Connectivity, Resilience” by Permanent Representatives from Myanmar and other members include its activities in respective sectors regarding youth and information under the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, activities through the ASEAN Permanent Representative Committee on building ASEAN Community, promotion of ASEAN awareness by ASEAN Foundation members with support from outside partners like dialogue partners and Google.org, and media literacy activities carried out by respective organizations to combat false news and misinformation.
At the ADLP Summit, ASEAN Permanent Representatives, the Executive Director of the ASEAN Foundation and a responsible person from Google.org also launched its digital literacy e-learning platform, DigitalClassASEAN.org where people from ASEAN members can learn by using their own languages. Afterwards, certificates of honour were granted to local partners, the Youth Advisory Group (AYG) and trainers from each member country who supported in holding that event successfully. Altogether four trainers and youth volunteers from Myanmar attended the summit.
