ACCORDING to the Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar earned over US$9 million from exporting mining products in April. In the same period of the 2023-24 financial year, there were no mining product exports from the public sector. The report indicates that the total revenue of over $9 million was solely from the private export sector.

Myanmar’s exports of gems, stones, and mining products abroad include jade, diamond, gold, pearl, lead, tin, tungsten, copper, silver, coal, and zinc.

The 59th Gems Emporium commenced in Nay Pyi Taw at the Maniyadana Jade Hall on 3 May. During the emporium, a total of 4,550 jade lots were vended through an open tender system on a daily basis. On 7 May, the fifth day of the gem emporium, 950 jade lots were made available for sale to both domestic and international gem traders through the open tender system. Of these, 564 jade lots were sold, and the remaining lots will continue to be marketed until 12 May at the event.
