Daw Nang Kham Noung, Deputy CEO of KBZ Bank Limited, Myanmar, was selected for 5th ASEAN Entrepreneur Award 2020 in empowering women category.

ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC), in cooperation with Maekyaung Media Group, established the award for outstanding businesspersons in ASEAN in 2016.

AKC invited Myanmar to compete in five categories of Regional Champion, Entrepre neurs 4.0, Empowering Women, Up-and- Coming Startups and Scale-ups-The Next Unicorns at 21st World Knowledge Forum in September 2020.

Myanmar International Trade Centre (MITC) of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization informed about the invitation to the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Myanmar Computer Professionals Association, Myanmar Young Entrepreneurs Association and KBZ Bank Limited, and has been closely working with Myanmar Embassy in the Republic of Korea and ASEAN-Korea Centre.

Myanmar competed in the categories of Regional Champion, Entreoreneurs 4.0, Empowering Women, and Up-and- Coming Startups. Three entrepreneurs from Myanmar, Indonesia and Viet Nam won the 5th ASEAN Entrepreneur Award.

A ceremony to present the awards will be held at Shilla Hotel in Seoul on 16 September, but the winners are not invited to the event because of COVID-19 restrictions. On behalf of them, embassies concerned will accept the awards.

The winners are requested to send video messages in advance and to join the event online, according to ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC).
