The Myanmar Embassy to the Republic of Korea (ROK) has announced that it will switch from in-person booking to online appointment system for passport extensions from 22 July.

The embassy is handling consular affairs and passport related matters in accordance with laws, rules, regulations and procedures for the benefit of Myanmar nationals in ROK, it said.

Under the current in-person booking system, there were many applicants and it exceeded the capacity of the consular office on some days and waiting time for Myanmar nationals has increased.

Appointments have been given until 18 July 2024 under this booking system for passport extensions and for the provision of better services to the nationals with less burden on them, appointment system will be changed from in-person booking to online application from 22 July, it announced.

Starting from 31 May, Myanmar nationals in the ROK can make online appointments for the desired dates through https://myanmarembassyseoul. setmore.com/myanmar or QR Code and for obtaining recommendation letters, the embassy will continue to provide the service as usual at 2 pm every Tuesday and Thursday.

The necessary documents and other information for passport extensions can be found on the embassy’s website at https://meseoul.org. Online appointment can be made at https://myanmarembassyseoul. setmore.com/Myanmar or by scanning QR Code and multiple applications will not be accepted, the embassy said.
