ON 26 June 2024, the United Nations Human Rights Council’s report on banks stated that international banks, domestic State-owned banks, and some private banks are involved in Myanmar’s human rights violations.
Thus, the Central Bank of Myanmar issued a statement expressing its strong objection to the UNHRC report demanding action against these banks as it harms the interests of the people of Myanmar as well as the relationship between Myanmar and foreign countries.
All-Myanmar Theravada Buddhist Organization and Border and Hilly Region Sasana Nuggaha Association (Central) fully supports the Central Bank of Myanmar’s strong objection to the UNHRC statement, which is inconsistent with Myanmar’s actual conditions and contains elements that may hamper public interests.
