The Ayeyawady River water level has risen due to heavy rainfall, causing floods in the wards and villages of Myitkyina Township.
Regional Tatmadaw members, the Myanmar Police Force, the Fire Brigade and departmental staff evacuated the residents and provided the recuse work. Relevant officers of the Northern Command inspected recuse processes and provided foodstuffs to flood victims.
Similarly, the water level of the Chindwin River in Sagaing Region increased due to heavy rainfall. The water level reached 1,535 centimetres in Khamti yesterday, and it exceeded 175 centimetres, which is more than 1,360 centimetres of danger level. Myoma, Pawmaing, Zeephyugon wards, Aung Thaya and Sinthay villages in Khamti faced flooding.
Tatmadaw members, Myanmar Police Force, Fire Brigade and departmental staff, evacuated 658 locals of 188 households to safe places and provided them with drinking water, food and healthcare services.
