YESTERDAY, the Myanmar Women and Children Development Foundation (MWCDF) donated K3 million to help flood victims in Kachin State.

The donation ceremony was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement with the attendance of Union Minister Dr Soe Win, the deputy minister, the permanent secretary, the directors-general, the MWCDF chair and members.

MWCDF Chairperson Dr Daw Wai Wai Thar explained the purpose of donation, and the Union minister explained relief activities conducted in Kachin State. He received K3 million and gave the association a certificate of gratitude in return. Similarly, 17,500 canned fish donated by the Myanmar Rice Federation and tarpaulin, clothes, communication devices, medicines and medical supplies donated by the National Disaster Management Committee, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement were transported to flood-affected residents in Kachin State by Tatmadaw aircraft on 3 July.
