THE malicious media posted misinformation status on social networks, alleging that security forces detained about 100 residents in Kyaungphyukan village and torched 12 houses in Tuuyinboh village in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region.

The media spread such news to mislead the public regarding the security forces who were conducting security measures in Tuuyinboh, Kyaungphyukan villages and vicinity areas in Myingyan Township.

Security officials claimed that none of the residents were detained in Kyaungphyukan village, and there was also no fire in Tuuyinboh village.

In this regard, fake news was reportedly spread through malicious media, defaming the security forces.
