FORMER President U Thein Sein received Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the Diao Yutai State Guest House in Beijing. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the existing friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and China, and recent development of Myanmar.

Flood in Myitkyina

FLOODING emergency in Myitkyina prompts rapid rescue efforts and evacuations. By 1 July, the water level of Ayeyawady River in Myitkyina had exceeded 1,368 centimetres.

Rice distribution

THE Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) has started selling premium rice (Ayeyawady and Shwebo Pawsan rice varieties) through direct delivery to home service from 1 July.

SAC Chairman receives Chinese Ambassador

CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr Chen Hai, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, at the Credentials Hall of the Office of SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw, holding discussions on cooperation in forging peace and stability in border region.

Deputy Minister appointed

THE State Administration Council has appointed U Min Htut as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Planning and Finance under Section 419 of the Constitution.

SAC Vice-Chairman leaves for China

VICE-CHAIRMAN of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win left for China to attend the Green Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries to be held in Qingdao, Shandong Province of the People’s Republic of China on 8-9 July.
