On-ground teams have been actively working to control the outbreak of severe diarrhoea in several townships in Yangon Region, under the close supervision of the Ministry of Health and with the assistance of the Yangon Region government.

From 6 am on 14 July 2024 to 6 pm on 15 July, 96 new diarrhoea patients were admitted to hospitals in Yangon Region. Among them, 13 were confirmed to have severe diarrhoea, while the other patients were reported to be in good condition.

A total of 92 patients were discharged on 15 July. Therefore, by 6 pm on 15 July 2024, a total of 613 diarrhoea patients had been discharged from hospitals. Although the infection rate has started to decline, intensifying efforts to control the disease are ongoing in Yangon Region.
