MALICIOUS media outlets are falsely reporting that a Tatmadaw airstrike in Phayaungtaw village, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region, resulted in seven deaths on 6 August.

In reality, during the counter-terrorism operation, the Tatmadaw targeted only locations where terrorists were hiding, based on reports from residents. The terrorists, however, attacked non-military targets using dropped bombs, rockets, and heavy weapons. In this instance, it was the terrorists who used heavy weapons against residents. At the same time, subversive media outlets deliberately spread fabricated stories to cover up the terrorists’ actions, misrepresent the Tatmadaw, and mislead the international community.
