RECENT rumours suggesting imminent attacks by terrorists on PyinOoLwin, Mandalay Region, caused concern among some families of Tatmadaw members, Myanmar Police Force members, and government employees, leading to their reported relocation. However, it confirmed that these reports are baseless and part of a deliberate misinformation circulation.

The security forces assured that misinformation is intended to create fear, disrupt regional stability, and lower the morale of Tatmadaw and law enforcement personnel. In response, security teams work diligently with local people to ensure the safety and security of PyinOoLwin and its surrounding areas.

A resident from Ward 19 in PyinOoLwin clarified the situation, stating, “The town is calm and peaceful. Security forces are effectively maintaining order. The circulating news is simply unfounded rumours aimed at disrupting our community’s stability”.

Authorities urge the public to disregard these false reports and continue with their everyday activities. The situation remains stable, and efforts to maintain security and public confidence are ongoing, he commented.
