As per the instruction made by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, students and soldiers who passed the matric exam of the 2023-2024 academic year with flying colours went on a foreign excursion to study international culture and enrich knowledge.
The group left for China on 26 August evening. The group contained 29 people- children of in-service and war veteran members, five national-level outstanding students, 16 students who got the highest marks, one soldier who passed with three distinctions, two soldiers who passed with two distinctions in the 2023-2024 matriculation examination, and five principals/administrative officials, and was led by Col Thurein Tun of the office of the Adjutant-General from Commander-in-Chief (Army) office. They will visit China from 26 to 31 August.
Tatmadaw has presented awarded prizes to the children of Tatmadaw families, war veteran members and Tatmadaw substitute staff who passed the matriculation exam with distinctions since 2011-2012. Among them, the outstanding soldiers and youths were arranged to go on foreign excursing in 2013, and the plan was suspended during the outbreak of COVID-19 and resumed in the 2023-2024 academic year.
