ACCORDING to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a meeting to discuss and exchange the views on enhancing cooperation in religious and cultural affairs based on the teachings of Theravada Buddhism between Myanmar and Sri Lanka was held on 29 August at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

During the discussion, Myanmar’s Ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Daw Marlar Than Htaik and the Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Ms Aruni Wijewardane also exchanged view on rendering bilateral support at the United Nations meetings and making efforts by both sides on the matters of Sri Lankan citizens, arriving in the Myawady Area.
