Subversive media spread fake news, claiming that Tatmadaw arrested about 20 youths for military training on 27 and 28 August in the wards of TadaU and Pyigyidagun townships of Mandalay Region.

An official from security forces clarified an actual event: security forces had not arrested youths for military training in Mandalay, and they had just conducted security measures, surprise checks, and patrols around the township.

Relevant officials carried out conscription processes as per procedures, and the People’s Military Service Law was also officially enacted.

Malicious media intentionally circulates wrong and fake news, misleading the people and deteriorating the stability in Mandalay.
