THE malicious media have intentionally spread false reports claiming that youths from Sagaing and Mandalay regions, forced into military service, were sent to Kholan and Namsang townships.

However, security officers from these areas have confirmed that no such forced soldiers are present. The security forces are carrying out counter-terrorism duties, inspections, and patrols.

The conscription process for military service is being conducted in accordance with official rules and regulations. The media are fabricating stories using old photographs in an attempt to destabilize the towns.
