China’s Southeast Asia Oil and Gas Pipeline Company (SEAOP) and Southeast Asia Natural Gas Pipeline Company (SEAGP) have implemented 493 charity and social welfare projects in Myanmar, according to the launch of the China-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Project 2024 ESG Report, held in Yangon.

These companies have donated 163 school buildings, 28 buildings for libraries, halls, roads, and teaching aids to improve the education sector in Myanmar.

In the health sector, they have also helped build 35 hospital and medical centre projects, nine hospital wards, external power lines, road-related buildings, 11 ambulances, and medical equipment, all aimed at improving the quality of local health services.

In the transportation sector, the companies donated 11 roads, bridges, ports, and transportation structures to facilitate the movement of people. Similarly, in the area of ensuring people’s livelihoods, 17 community electricity supply facilities, 30 community wells or water supply pipelines, and two communication towers were donated to help local people access electricity, and drinking water, and improve communication.

SEAOP and SEAGP have also provided 121 donations and assistance during post-disaster and recovery efforts in Myanmar.
