The 63rd Anniversary of Peasants’ Day ceremony was held yesterday morning at Wardu Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Ayeyawady Region. State Administration Council member Mahn Nyein Maung, Regional Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and officials attended the event.

The ceremony began with SAC member, the Chief Minister and other officials cutting the ribbon to open the event. They then toured agricultural exhibitions including home gardens and fruit plantations. The SAC member also met with a Russian Embassy official and a RUMA Organic company representative to discuss Russian organic fertilizers and quality sunflower seeds.

Officials then inspected pesticide-free crops and modern sunflower plantations before the SAC member read a message from SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing. The Chief Minister delivered a speech, followed by cultural performances featuring traditional dances and songs that entertained the attendees.

On the occasion, outstanding farmers were honoured with awards, and the SAC member inaugurated the Peasants’ Day exhibition, showcasing modern paddy transplanter. The event concluded with a communal lunch with farmers, a live agricultural discussion, and further cultural performances.

At the ceremony marking the 63rd Anniversary of Peasants’ Day, the Department of Agriculture showcased model multi-crop plantations, while the Department of Fisheries exhibited fish farms. The Agricultural Mechanization Department demonstrated farming equipment, including a paddy transplanter, a six-row paddy transplanter and a ten-row seeder. A total of 51 exhibition booths were set up, featuring displays on agriculture, livestock breeding, and MSME development research. These exhibitions and discussions will continue to be held vibrantly until 4 March.
