A gathering to mark Iftar, the breaking of the fast, on the third day of Ramadan, was held at the Lotte Hotel in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, on 4 March.
The annual event, hosted by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Myanmar and led by Ambassador Mr Saud bin Abdullah Al-Subaie, brought together Muslims observing the holy month.
The event was attended by the Ambassador and officials from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Myanmar, representatives from Islamic religious organizations and schools, invitees from mosques in Yangon, and diplomats from other embassies in the city.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, and after a day of fasting, mosques and other religious organizations provide food and drink to those observing the fast.
