State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing, the Permanent Secretary and officials, left Nay Pyi Taw for Mandalay by No 27 Up Train, to inspect the regional development programmes being conducted by affiliated departments in Mandalay Region, on 6 March.
On 7 March morning, the Union minister inspected the Myitnge Carriage and Wagon Factory and instructed the need to make maintenance, consider the Flat Wagon and numbers of passengers and logistics, and conduct capacity building for staff. During the inspection tour, he observed the factory compound and provided the staff with foodstuffs.
At noon, he proceeded to Anee Sakhan Airport and gave instructions to complete the work processes in time, meeting the set quality.
On arrival at the PyinOoLwin railway station, he observed the railway yard of the station and instructed officials to preserve the buildings systematically and other development plans.
On 8 March, the Union minister and party visited the new Samone River crossing bridge construction site destroyed by Typhoon Yagi between Samone and Thabyay Taung railway stations. During the visit, the officials reported on waterway clearance of the bridge and riverbank retaining wall construction for the strength of the bridge.
After the visit, the Union minister proceeded to Thazi railway station by RBE train and observed the railway yard of the station.
