Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Lwin Oo received Mr Alexander James Matheou, Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for Asia Pacific, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They exchanged views on matters relating to IFRC’s support for strengthening the activities of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and ways to promote the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.

Also, present at the meeting were senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MRCS Chairman Dr Myo Nyunt, Ms Nadia Khoury, IFRC Head of Delegation in Myanmar, and officials from IFRC and MRCS.
