THE launch event for the drama series ‘The King’s Bride’, a mystery drama featuring both Korean and Myanmar actors, was held on 10 March at the Myawaddy Media Centre in Yankin Township, Yangon.
Produced by KB & H Entertainment, the series is written by the popular novelist Hazel, with director Kyaw Hninzi leading the production. Speaking at the event, the director expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I’ve wanted to create a drama like this for a long time. It’s a bold step in a new direction. The producer has shown great courage in taking on this project. Since it’s based on a story by Hazel, who is very popular online, there are many challenges ahead. The involvement of KB & H Entertainment, which has international connections, adds to the complexity. It’s a major challenge, but we are determined to make it a success. ‘The King’s Bride’ will be filmed in two seasons, delivering an intriguing imperial romance with elements of mystery and fantasy, starting from 18 March”.
The drama series is a collaboration with a South Korean film company and aims to reach an international audience. The cast includes Myanmar actors Htet Aung Shine, Htun Pale Yadana, Nayyi Win Le, Paing Thit, Hsu Shine, Danyela, and Nyi Kyaw, along with two Korean actors.
