Through trilateral cooperation between Myanmar, China and Thailand, authorities have been actively cracking down on online scams and illegal online gambling operations.
As part of these efforts, Myanmar has transferred 375 Chinese nationals who were involved in telecom fraud and other criminal activities in border areas. The transfer took place yesterday via Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II, adhering to legal procedures while prioritizing humanitarian considerations and international relations.

Authorities have identified and detained another 260 foreign nationals for further investigation. The operation was supervised by Kayin State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Min Thu Kyaw and other officials to ensure a smooth process.

A formal handover ceremony was held, attended by Myanmar officials, Deputy Director General Mr Liu Ning Ning from China’s Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Investigation Department and representatives from Thailand’s Tak Province Immigration Bureau.

During the event, Myanmar officials transferred legal documentation to their foreign counterparts.
Authorities have also been conducting investigations in areas such as Myawady-Minlattpan and KK Park area, where 260 foreign nationals were found to have entered Myanmar illegally through unofficial routes. These individuals have been detained and will be processed for repatriation as soon as possible, with relevant records and personal information being documented by the responsible departments.
