State Administration Council Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe, accompanied by council members, union ministers and deputy ministers, arrived in Mawlamyine yesterday evening, to attend the 51st Mon State Day that falls on 19 March.
The General and party then attended the opening ceremony of booths, MSMEs products and traditional food sale stalls marking the 51st Mon State Day at Thamainbayan ground in Mawlamyine.
The Mon State chief minister first reported on the aims of arranging galleries, local products and food stalls to mark the Mon State Day, socioeconomic development programmes and ongoing work plans.
The SAC Secretary and Council Members Mahn Nyein Maung, Khun San Lwin, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein and the South-East Command commander cut the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the galleries.
The SAC Secretary and party also attended the handover ceremony of drum seeders to mark the Mon State Day and presented the equipment to the farmers.
They observed the booths, MSMEs products and traditional food sale stalls.
These galleries aim to present state development activities of Mon State to the ethnic national people and also about the traditions, culture, customs and food of ethnic people in the state. It features nine booths for the farming sector, 10 booths for the industrial sector, nine booths for services, nine booths for education, eight booths for health, 21 booths for MSME products, and the Myanma Thanaka gallery. — MNA/KTZH
