Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with Venerable Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, General Secretary of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), a Buddhist organization under India’s Ministry of Culture, and his team at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw at 10 am yesterday.

During the meeting, they had cordial discussions on the development of Buddhism not only in the five Buddhist countries but also globally, the spread of the Pali language, Myanmar-India friendship and ongoing cooperation in the media sector, living in accordance with the five principles of peaceful coexistence, and cooperation in media training between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, the Permanent Secretary, departmental officials, and representatives from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC). — MNA/TH
