FOR the forthcoming Thingyan holiday, reservations for the Taunggyi-Inlay-Ywangan tour have mounted, according to tour organizers.
Many people have already booked for the tour since March as they seem going to escape the summer heat, said Ko Jimmy from the Kalaw Car Rental and Photo Free Service.
“Nearly all group bookings for Thingyan include Inlay. Their visit takes at least three days-spending the first day in Kalaw and second day in Inlay and Taunggyi, and another day in Ywangan and Pindaya. It seems Inlay is the most popular destination and people are eager to go places like a waterfall because the temperature has risen,” he said.
For Thingyan vacation, he has received some bookings from Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, he said. It is now summer holiday so families have gone on vacation by renting a car and there is visiting of friend groups as well.
Among overseas trips, Bangkok will be a major destination and local visitor arrival is also expected to rise in Taunggyi, Kalaw, Inlay, Pindaya, Bagan-NyaungU, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Bago.
