The Myanmar delegation led by Dr Wah Wah Maung, an Eminent Person (EP) of Myanmar for the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of the Union Myanmar, attended the 22nd Meeting of High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (22nd HLTF-ACV) which was held in Penang, Malaysia, on 17-19 March 2025.

The 22nd HLTF-ACV Meeting was co-chaired by Eminent Persons (EP) of Malaysia and the Philippines, as the permanent shepherd Member State, and attended by Eminent Persons, High-Level Representatives and officials from the ASEAN Member States, representatives from Timor-Leste as well as ASEAN Secretary-General, ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General for APSC and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.

At the Meeting, the HLTF-ACV had an Interface meeting with the Chair of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI), Co-Chairs of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Development of ASCC Post-2025 Strategic Plan and Chair of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) and the respective pillar updated progresses in developing their ASEAN Vision 2045 strategic action plans. The Meeting discussed the development and finalization of the respective strategic plans.

The meeting adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration after its third reading. The meeting also finalized the strategic measures outlined in the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Strategic Plan. The meeting also concluded deliberations on the Monitoring and Evaluation Tools, and Communication Plan, and adopted the HLTF-ACV report, which will be submitted to the ASEAN Coordinating Council for consideration at the 46th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in May 2025. Additionally, the title for the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 was approved as ‘ASEAN Vision 2045: Our Shared Future’.

The meeting emphasizes further deliberation on the timely conclusion of the Strategic Plans and publication for their adoption at the 46th ASEAN Summit in May 2025 in Malaysia.
