Myanmar authorities transferred 32 Indians, four Kazakhstanis, eight Kyrgyzstanis, two Uzbekistanis and one Russian, totalling 47, who were involved in online gambling and online scams illegally entering the Myawady-Shwe Kokko and KK Park area in Kayin State via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II yesterday.

The officials from Myanmar and the respective countries attended the transfer event.

From 30 January to 10 April 2025, 8,740 foreign nationals were detained for illegal entry into Myanmar. Of these, 7,278 were transferred to their respective countries through Thailand, following legal procedures. The remaining 1,461 are ready to be deported shortly.

The government decisively combats online scams, online gambling and online destructive elements by cooperating with international organizations and people and systematically transferring the detainees to their countries. The officials of regions and states are also making efforts to combat online scams, online gambling and destructive elements.
