May the showers of the Buddha’s virtues pour forth abundantly, so that the entire land may be peaceful and serene, and the flowers of peace may bloom gently.

May the showers of the Dhamma’s virtues rain down abundantly, bringing peace, prosperity, and serenity throughout the land, and may the blossoms of tranquility fill the air with their fragrance.

May showers of the Sangha’s noble virtues pour forth, that the entire nation may prosper in peace, and may the flowers of tranquility bloom.

At the auspicious moment of the New Year, may you, with unceasing mindfulness that never permits heedlessness — mindfulness ever holding fast to the the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha and to the Five Precepts — exert every effort to transcend the three great scourges of disease, famine and conflict. May all people of Myanmar and all citizens of the world rise above these calamities; may your mind be at peace and your body enjoy perfect health; and may your journeys, your labours and your enterprises proceed smoothly and effortlessly, unimpeded by any obstacle. By the power of merit and the force of righteousness, I pay homage and pray that, in this New Year’s moment, all your plans and aspirations may be fulfilled completely and perfectly.
