I extend warmest wishes for peace and blessings to all members of the Sangha, elders and citizens residing throughout the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. May you all enjoy excellent physical and mental well-being.
Before the Myanmar New Year Festival which fell on the 5th waning of Tagu in the year 1387 of the Myanmar Era, a powerful earthquake struck on 28 March 2025. This severe earthquake caused casualties, injuries and disappearances among the people in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, Magway Region, Bago Region and Shan State. It also led to widespread destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure, severely impacting the socio-economic lives of the people. Our association deeply shares the sorrow and grief of the affected citizens in light of these tragic losses.
As an organization, we took immediate action by coordinating the Public Security and Disaster Relief Committees that are structured across various states and regions. We deployed these teams to the quake-hit areas, where they carried out rescue and relief operations including the distribution of food, clean water, shelter materials, clothing and basic necessities.
Dear fellow citizens, please be assured that our organization will continue participating in rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts for the communities affected by the earthquake.
As we now step into the Myanmar New Year: 1st waxing of Tagu, it is our collective duty, including citizens, government, Tatmadaw and the Young Men’s Buddhist Association (YMBA) to join hands in unity and expedite the rebuilding of the earthquake-affected areas.
In brief, I sincerely wish that throughout this Myanmar New Year, our beloved nation remains peaceful, prosperous and stable. May every citizen enjoy sound health, both physically and mentally.
