The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) has been providing relief supplies to quake survivors and conducting post-earthquake usability supplies in schools and other buildings.
UMFCCI and affiliated associations donated medicines, food and consumer goods to quake survivors in Mandalay through the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry on 15 April.
Before the beginning of the academic year, the federation also carried out building assessments in six earthquake-stricken primary schools and three high schools in Sagaing Region and helped maintain the buildings starting from the Thingyan holidays.
Moreover, an earthquake clinic led by the UMFCCI in collaboration with the earthquake committee run by the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Society, Sagaing Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the residents, was formed on 12 April to check quake-hit buildings for usability.
UMFCCI is carrying out rescue activities in collaboration with affiliated associations and partner organizations. The federation has also formed the UMFCCI Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation Task Force to help those affected by the earthquake. It will link with local organizations in quake-hit regions to help the earthquake survivors.
Furthermore, it also announced that it welcomes well-wishers, businesspeople and domestic and international organizations to join the funding of the UMFCCI directly through contact numbers (09 776999920 and 09 776999940 of the Member Affairs Department, and 09 450200640 of Public Relations Department).
