A total of 13 small aftershocks measuring between 1.5 and 3.4 magnitudes hit Myanmar and the border area with northern Thailand early on 22 April, The Nation newspaper reported, citing a statement from the Thai Meteorological Department.
It stated a 1.8-magnitude earthquake with a depth of 3 kilometres struck near the Thai-Burma border, Tak Province, at 2:09 am local time and the epicentre was located about 10 kilometres northwest of Phop Phra, at a latitude of 16.463 degrees north and a longitude of 98.640 degrees east.
Similarly, a small jolt measuring 3.4 struck 330 kilometres northwest of Mae Hong Son district at 4:04 am yesterday, with a depth of 10 kilometres.
In Myanmar, until the noon of 22 April, there were tremors of 2.5 scale near Myo Hla in Bago Region at 10:12:07; 2.5 scale in Thandaunggyi, Kayin State at 12:36:55; 3.6 scale in Patheingyi, Mandalay, at 12:39:46; and 2.4 scale centred between Tatkon and Pobbathiri in Nay Pyi Taw at 1:05:45.
