CHINA’S Chongqing Airlines launched its direct Chongqing–Yangon and Yangon–Chongqing flights on 8 December.

According to Mr Kyauk Kyant Hoon, Chairman of the Chongqing–Myanmar Group, the airline has introduced these flights, intending to encourage businesspeople from Chongqing to invest in Myanmar and to attract more Chinese tourists to visit the country. He made the remarks on 9 December at the Chongqing–Yangon Aviation and Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference held at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon.

The flights will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. The aircraft departing Chongqing at 9 am will arrive in Yangon at 11:20 am. Likewise, the aircraft leaving Yangon at 12:15 pm will reach Chongqing at 3:45 pm.

In addition, it is learnt that Chongqing Airlines will also operate cargo flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
