The first regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw continued for the third day at the Amyotha Hluttaw building at the Hluttaw Complex in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At the meeting, the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw, U Aung Lin Dwe, announced that all 213 Amyotha Hluttaw representatives who were eligible to attend the third day of the First Regular Session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw were present. As attendance reached 100 per cent, the quorum requirement was met, and the session was declared open. The attendance record was then submitted to the Hluttaw for approval and officially documented.
The Speaker sought the approval from the Hluttaw to approve the nomination of the Bill Committee formed with 15 members, including Chair Daw Nwe Nwe Oo from the Ayeyawady Region First-past-the-post (FTPT System) Constituency 2 and Secretary U Zin Min Htet from the Bago Region (PR System) Constituency 1, with responsibilities, authority, rights and terms of the committee. The Amyotha Hluttaw approved it.
The Speaker also sought approval for the nomination of the Public Accounts Committee formed with 15 members, including Chair U Chit Swe from the Ayeyawady Region (PR system) Constituency 2 and Secretary U Than Aung from the Taninthayi Region (FTPT System) Constituency 2, with responsibilities, authority, rights and terms of the committee. The Amyotha Hluttaw approved it.
Furthermore, the Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker sought the approval of the Amyotha Hluttaw and approved the formation of Hluttaw Rights Committee with 15 members led by Chair Jeng Phang Naw Taung from the Kachin State (FTPT System) Constituency 2 and Secretary U Aung Tin Myint from the Ayeyawady Region (PR System) Constituency 1, along with responsibilities, authority, rights and terms, and the Hluttaw approved it.
The Speaker sought approval for the formation of the Government Guarantees, Pledges and Undertakings Vetting Committee, chaired by U Hla Thein from the Bago Region (PR System) Constituency 2, together with Secretary U Yan Naing Oo from the Yangon Region (PR System) Constituency 2, with responsibilities of the committee, authority, rights and terms. The Hluttaw approved it.
The third-day session of the Amyotha Hluttaw was adjourned, and the fourth-day timetable will be announced in advance.
