Extra consignments of relief and development supplies delivered by the government have arrived in Falam and Haka for locals and rehabilitation activities in Chin State, according to reports.
The supplies, including foodstuffs, consumer goods, school and office materials, medicines, medical supplies, construction materials and other assistance items, were transported from Kalay after being airlifted from Yangon and Mandalay.
Vehicles carrying the supplies and departmental personnel reached Falam on the night of 4 June and arrived in Haka on the afternoon of 5 June, where local officials received the convoy.
The supplies will be distributed to local ethnic communities through the relevant authorities and are expected to support livelihoods, healthcare, education and rehabilitation efforts in the region. Officials said assistance would continue based on local needs.
