Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Tokyo-based Ethiopian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Daba Debele Hunde, who is preparing to leave Japan after completing his duties, at the Union Minister’s office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, they discussed matters related to the entry and exit of Ethiopian nationals visiting Myanmar under various visas and residence permits, the detection and legal action taken against foreigners, including Ethiopian nationals, who have entered Myanmar illegally, and the deportation of Ethiopian nationals involved in online scams for the sake of the friendship between the two countries. They also discussed Myanmar’s cooperation with neighbouring countries in combating online financial fraud and human trafficking, as well as continued cooperation between Myanmar and Ethiopia on immigration matters.
