A relief flight of Myanmar Airways International organized by the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur landed at Yangon International Airport with 120 seamen stranded in Malaysia, and 47 former detainees in Malaysia, totally 167 yesterday afternoon.

Moreover, another relief flight of the MAI organized by the Myanmar Embassy in Riyadh also brought back 132 citizens stranded in the UAE yesterday evening.

These second group included 4 from Saudi Arabia, 70 from the United Arab Emirates, 9 from Egypt, 10 from Britain, 6 from South Africa, 3 from the Netherlands, 3 from Brazil, 4 from Tanzania, 5 from Maldives, 4 from Ethiopia, 3 from Pakistan, 9 from Iran, and 2 from France, totally 132.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government arranged 7-day quarantine at specific places or designated hotels, followed by the 7-day home quarantine.

To bring back the Myanmar citizens, who are stranded in foreign countries, by relief flights and chartered flights in accordance with the instructions from National-Level Central Committee on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperated with the relevant ministries, Myanmar embassies from respective countries and shipping companies.
