Education Ministry discusses quality assur

The Ministry of Education held a meeting at their office yesterday to ensure the quality of school textbooks meet set standards. Firstly, Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi urged the quality assurance officials from district education offices present at the meeting to actively discuss for clarification. He said the technology acquired at this meeting should be used to ensure the quality textbooks reach the hands of students in time. Next, Ms Hikari Miyahara, Project Coordinator for the JICA (CREATE) Team, explained the meeting. In the second part of the meeting, Director-General U Ko Lay Win of the Basic Education Department delivered an address.

Afterwards, Dr Win Tun, Director-General of Educational Research, Planning and Training Department, explaining textbook compilation, a representative from the Ministry of Information explaining printing the textbooks, Mr Fumhaka Sato of JICA (CREATE) Team explaining the technology for assessing the quality and printing of the textbooks, and Ms Hikari Miyahara explaining compilation of textbooks for the new curriculum. This was followed by a question and answer session.
